Question
“Can you recommend a hormone replacement for Dummy’s 101? I just do not understand why I need HRT if it is not in my KJV. Can’t I just eat something or take herbs?” [0:02:43]
Answer
I come from a biblical worldview. And so, I see myself as using the Bible and my faith in the King of the Bible, which is Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. So, I'm in service to him. But He had to come and pay for my sins and that with His own life. So, whereas we started out Adam and Eve perfect and with eternal life they wouldn't have died. They were deceived by the subtleties of doubting God's word, hath God said, and you won't surely die were the responses. And now we're on the other side where we do die. So, if we do die, things are breaking down, and our Lord said to be good stewards of our bodies. And our Lord told us that, you know, seek ye first the kingdom of God and all this will be added to you. So, when we are studying our role to be servants, you know, the greatest commandment he said was, love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and soul, and the second is this, the first, love your neighbor as yourself. So, if that is our goal, to love God and our neighbor as ourselves, we want to take good care of ourselves, so that we can be functional.
But we're living in a body that is falling apart gradually. And we're in a world system that is doing things to the food and the environment electromagnetically and genetic modification-wise, and contaminating our water and food, and the energy exposure and toxins is a challenge for taking care of our bodies. Then we're presented with all this information for buying food and gratifying ourselves and gratifying our physical pleasures. This then creates a terrible excess and an addiction to carbohydrates, some to alcohol, some to drugs, some to other idols, and money, and that wears us down. So when it comes to hormones, that's part of the wearing down of the human body. I personally believe that Adam and Eve would have lived. They would have had a child maybe every 500 years for all I know and enjoyed watching that child grow and build a strong family and community that recognized who God was, their creator, and what their duty was to him and their fellow neighbors and family. But now that we do die, we have to take care of ourselves against all these risks and challenges.
So, we do know that estradiol in a woman is a very unique hormone. It's not a horse hormone like the equine estrogens were first given. Female estradiol is pure bioidentical. It is not cancer-causing. I don't know that I have a report here, but I just had an article that I presented. Today was our Tuesday clinic meeting once a month. Our whole staff stops working and we look at teaching and talking about certain processes to do a better caring job for our patients. The article I presented today was on hormone replacement therapy and the concern for women who have had breast cancer in the past. Basically, it does a retrospective meta-analysis of all the reported and case studies on hormone replacement therapy since the 1980s up until 2021 was the last article reviewed. So that's a good 41 years, about nearly as long as I've been practicing medicine. And it basically refutes that the natural hormone estradiol hormone replacement therapy is causative in cancer. This is mythology. It's the same mythology as when we were talking about smoking in the 1920s, 30s, 40s, and 50s when the Surgeon General said to have a Camel filterless, it’s the preferred cigarette of physicians. It's good for anxiety and stress because we doctors have so much stress. So, you can see how wrong your glorified peak pinnacle of representatives like the Surgeon General was talking about smoking. So, this concept that hormones cause smoking cancer and can't be used is a fallacy; whereas it helps us build our bones. It helps us to have a better cardiovascular state of health. It helps our cognitive and memory functions. It helps with elastin and collagen. And one of our biggest organs is our skin. And so, it helps with our skin integrity and defense and thickness. It helps with our immune system, and I could go on and on. It helps our bones, building our bones and preventing hip fractures. So, there are so many wise things that God had a multi-use for many of the molecules in our human body. Estradiol is one of them.
So, using human bioidentical natural hormones with a physician who is going to check them and remind you that, if you're going to use them, you have to use them with Systemic Enzymes because younger women have more enzymes. Younger women have more exercise and activities. Younger women drink more water. So, I insist my patients take water, use Systemic Enzymes on an empty stomach at least once a day, three or four capsules, and exercise and move. And so, all this concern about blood clots and all that is primarily an overflow of when we were using the terrible horse equine estrogens that were way too strong.
So, do I feel that you can eat something? No. There is nothing that replaces estradiol. Are there mimics that have a mild tiny effect? Yes, of course, there are plant sterols and phytosterols that have some docking ability in estrogen receptors, which can create some mild relief of hot flashes. But they will not prevent your bone loss, they will not prevent the progression of elastin collagen failure and aneurysms and vascular disease, and they won't prevent your cognitive brain and your fractures and your immune system failures. So, estradiol was created by our creator and it's for a good reason. So, that's how I deal with my approach and background on natural hormone replacement.
Question
“Hi, Dr. E. A friend is 48 years old, male with abdominal cramping and bloating, radiating to his flanks, constipated, and frequent night urination. Yesterday, mucus in the stool, and some relief prone on the knees. Colonoscopy is going to be on Monday.” [0:11:56]
Answer
Well, it sounds like he is starting to have a breakdown that's been building up over the years, probably for decades, he's 48, and the lining of his tube from his mouth to his anus is only one cell membrane thick. Remember, this is a healthy membrane. It's a double layer of phospholipids and these protein receptors. So it's like a sandwich of these fats and proteins. That’s not made of carbohydrates. However, the injury is if you eat plant lectins, phytates, oxalates, various food particles that have irritants, and then the glyphosates and the genetic modifications. And if you don't drink enough water, and if you start eating a lot of starch, sugar, high fructose corn syrup, these things then start damaging this one single membrane. And almost all Americans have it to some degree, and it only gets worse with time. Certain blood types have certain patterns. I've seen over the decades, O's, because we went from the ancient grain of wheat to a dwarf of high-yield grain with 42 chromosomes from the ancient grain that only had 14, then we glyphosate. This horrible high-yielding, abundant shorter for easier harvesting wheat grain is absolutely devastating, I would say, mostly to the O-type blood people. It would be interesting to know his blood type. The people who get ulcerative colitis and Crohn's are very often O-type blood people. They tend to have the most ulcers I've seen. So, these injuries to the lining of their gut from the plant lectins.
And since the membrane is made up of phospholipids approaching, the greatest source to repair and replace injury is by eating a rich protein/fat diet, which would be in meat and fish and chicken with the skin on it and pork and egg yolks, things like that. But very often what we need to do is to tell them to go on a fast where they just drink broth, like chicken broth where you can see right through it, not bone broth. We're talking about chicken broth or beef broth. And then we ask them to just use that nice warm broth and sip on it as much as they want, drink their water half their weight in pounds as ounces every day, be restful, don't do any hard workout or anything when you're not eating a lot of food and you're just resting your gut for a day, 24 hours, maybe 48 at the most, just to let the gut heal itself. Then we start using natural supplements that kind of mimic eating more phospholipids, protein, and fats to repair it, and that would be Our SBI Protect Powder mixed with our Phospholipid powder in warm water, a cup of warm water. And we usually add probiotics with it and we ask them to drink that twice a day. For their diet, we ask them to try and eat very soft things, like maybe soft broiled fish or broiled chicken, and leave it at that. No grains, no plant food. And then they tend to all gradually improve. But that's what I would start recommending, he finds a good functional, integrative doctor that can find out their blood type, and do a complete stool digestive analysis. He can get an IgG, the slow-reacting lectin-type food allergy immunoglobulins, and then he can see how inflamed he is. But if he's had it for many years, sometimes your immune system gets so inflamed that the immune system wears out. And by the time they come to see a doctor, they can't even make many antibodies anymore. So, very often, a patient will come and we'll do a food allergy test on them, IgG. Usually, their immediate food allergy reaction, IgE, is negative. Most people are negative. If you have a serious immediate reaction to food, you usually know this by the time you're a child. So, most adults don't need IgE food studies. It's the rare thing if ever, to see it discovered later in life. It's the IgG that develops with constant little gnawing away and irritating the gut lining. So, we could do that. Then we would do a stool analysis to look for inflammatory markers, immunoglobulins in the stool, and the amount of things digested, that's what a good functional doctor would do, but that's our approach. Hopefully, he'll find some good help.
Question
“Currently he's working with a diagnosis of diverticulitis. Your thoughts?” [0:18:08]
Answer
Well, those are my thoughts. And that's how we tend to begin and see the vast, vast majority of everyone improved.
Question
“I was wondering, will supplement or eating beef liver regularly raise excess copper levels to dangerous levels?” [0:18:25]
Answer
I've never seen it. I've never seen it. And I eat liver often. I've eaten liver all my life, and liver with bacon and some grilled onions, and I've done that all my life. Not many people eat as much liver as I do, but I've never seen this in my life. Now, I've had athletes, I've had weightlifters, and I've had people go on a binge of this for a season, and I've never seen problems. We can test, we can do serum copper, we can do red blood cell mineral analyses, but I've never seen this as a problem.
Question
“Hi, Dr. Ellithorpe! My daughter is 16 years old and has really painful periods, to the point that sometimes she needs to throw up. She feels nauseous and usually 1st day of her period she can’t attend school. What would you recommend to ease her pain? Thank you!” [0:19:22]
Answer
Well, from a natural point of view our patients who have such severe painful, cramping menstrual cycles, usually reflect this inflammation in the body is out of control and that inflammation tends to come really from their diet. Junk food at school, junk food at their friend's house, junk food at the theaters, junk food in the mall, junk food in the containers and fast-food restaurants they drive by, junk food for rushing breakfast. All this junk food is creating typically far too high blood sugars than should be allowed, our ranges are way too tolerant. And so their blood sugars climb, that injures their blood vessels, they get inflammation, they get the leaky gut injuries to their gut, they're getting bad fats. Remember, when the package says zero trans fats, that's doublespeak. If they say that, there's legal terminology that says you have to have less than 0. 5 milligrams per serving. All right. So, let's say most packages say they have four to six servings in them, but most kids eat all of the servings out of the popcorn bag or something, and whereas you're not supposed to be getting trans fats 0.5 would be low dose exposure. If you had all the bag, you're getting in 2 grams of trans fatty acids. So, this is how we're slowly lying to ourselves, deceiving ourselves, and eating this junk and our alleged food and safety divisions and our environmental protection are all a sham, a scam, just to have bureaucratic people taking our tax dollars and having these crazy high salary jobs, and writing up regulations, laughing all the way to the bank, cashing our tax dollar checks, and they know darn well they're not doing any good for the people for the most part.
So, I would say for your daughter, when there's stress on the body like that, that stress from the adrenal cortisol stops the follicle-stimulating luteinizing signal to the ovaries, the hormone pituitary-hypothalamic axis from stress, and you complicate the problem then by not ovulating. When you don't ovulate, then the lining of the uterus gets thicker because without progesterone natural hormone to signal a cleaning out of the uterus, the uterus can get thicker and more inflamed and dysregulated. So, it's a catch-22, and the inflammatory markers perceive this inflammation, and the cytokines go up and so forth, which are inflammatory molecules in the body, and you ache, and you bloat during any illness or inflammation of your body.
So, the things that help it is a clean diet, only natural, real foods, nothing packaged, nothing processed, cutting off your eating time and stopping eating, say at 6 o'clock in the evening, drinking half your weight in pounds as ounces of water every day, taking Systemic Enzymes to disinflame the whole body, do maybe four or five twice a day. And then use natural, we give natural progesterone to our young ladies with bad PMS and cramping, and we use it on day 15 from the first day starting of their career menstrual cycle. So 15 days after that, we start the progesterone to simulate ovulation, and we rub the cream on for 10 days, so on days 15 to 25 of their menstrual cycle. That gets the cleanout, that helps to disinflame the uterine lining, that helps to relax things. The enzymes help to disinflame the whole body. Then there are minerals. You could take a multi-mineral. We use TLC Multi Mineral, and we usually have them used three twice a day with the enzymes. And then telling them just to eat a protein and a vegetable for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and they tend to get much better and that not any grains, not any packaged food, nothing like that, eggs, bacon, broccoli, asparagus, green beans, brussels sprouts, spinach, asparagus buttered up, salt and pepper, those kind of things. And usually, that's the first step when we start seeing them heal.
Question
“What is the difference between vitamin D and K-Force? I've been on K-Force for several years and just wanted to make sure I'm still taking the right one. Thank you.” [0:25:03]
Answer
Well, vitamin D is just vitamin D3, and the vitamin D that we have here in capsule form is 5,000 IU. Then we add another concept of vitamin K2. This is not vitamin K1, which will compete with the anticoagulation of medications for thinning the blood. Vitamin K2 works totally differently, and it's rich in animal products and dairy products that work with fat, and fatty vitamin D, to help bone building in particular, and to prevent calcium deposition in soft tissues of the human body. So, you don't want it to deposit in your arteries, you don't want calcified arteries, you don't want it to build up in your breast tissue or prostate tissue. So, that is why we have K-Force. Which is vitamin D3 5,000 with K2 180 IU. Usually one a day is good enough, but many people need more than that, especially of the vitamin D3. So, they might use two a day, which is safe. Or they could take an extra vitamin D 10,000 with vitamin K2 90 mcg.
So, I think that's good. You're going to have to see your doctor and get your serum blood level after you've been taking it faithfully, and see what level that achieves for you.
Question
“I am a vegan. What minerals do you recommend that I take daily? Thank you.” [0:26:59]
Answer
Well, it depends on your blood type. If you are a blood type A, it becomes more imperative for you to take minerals than other vegans because blood type A people don't digest their foods as well as a general class, in my clinical experience, I've noticed over 43 years of practicing medicine. So, we have created TLC Multi Min, which is a multi-mineral of the most important multiple minerals like magnesium and potassium, some calcium, some manganese, some copper, selenium, and things like this. We created the TLC Multi Mineral to be taken as three capsules a day, either all at once or once with each meal. And if you're a blood type A, you would take it with your Digestive Enzyme because it tends to help absorb the minerals.
Why do we do this? Because our multi-minerals are all from a source that's high-quality amino acid chelated, meaning the mineral is attached to an amino acid or organic molecule so that it carries it across the membrane barriers instead of just like calcium oxalate or magnesium oxalate or magnesium sulfate. These are just pure inorganic minerals. So, if they are in the meat you eat, the fish you eat, the chicken you eat, then it's already chelated with an amino acid because all the minerals in the meat, fish, and chicken are really in a much more bioavailable form. But if you're a vegan, you're not eating any of that. So, it's going to be challenging, but you can do it. So TLC Multi Mineral, three a day. You might start with three twice a day for a month just to kind of tank yourself up a bit. You have to drink plenty of water, half your weight as pounds as ounces of water, and take your Digestive Enzyme when you eat your food with your minerals, and that's what we recommend for those minerals.
Of course, vegans are also at risk for B vitamin deficiencies, for fatty vitamin deficiencies, such as linoleic and alpha-linolenic acid. So, taking the Clinician's Preference Capsules Or Oils here would be very, very smart. Vitamin D is fat-soluble, so you would have to take vitamin D. Vitamin A is fat-soluble, and Vitamin K is fat-soluble. So, this is why it's difficult to be a vegan, but you can do it. Work with your doctor on that.
Question
“If a certain food makes a person gag, is it possible or likely that it’s the body’s instinct to protect against individual body chemistry or allergy? I cannot understand why I have an uncontrolled gag reflex to fish or seafood of any kind. The smell is foul to me, no matter how it’s prepared.” [0:30:16]
Answer
Well, I've been practicing medicine for almost half a century, and I have seen quite a bit of it. And so, nothing is new under the sun. Maybe that's very true for you. I suspect it is more mind over matter, much like not wanting to swallow a capsule but you can bite a hamburger and swallow a big piece of hamburger from McDonald's. So, we'll never know. I don't think you're at any fault for avoiding fish. I'm not a big fish fan myself. So, I'm going to say it's unlikely that it's a true allergy, and I would just leave it at that.
Question
“If a perimenopausal woman with excess weight (> 50 pounds) is actively losing fat, is stored estrogen in the belly fat releasing & temporarily increasing estrogen levels? Is the impact enough to affect a current prescription for bioidentical estradiol?” [0:31:35]
Answer
I've never seen it, and I've seen a lot of women who are at least 50 pounds overweight and have lost the weight. And I'm checking hormone levels all the time, I have been for 40 years. So, I'm going to say I have really not seen that as an issue. So, I can't speak to that because I've never seen it. I doubt it really is an issue.
Question
“What are your thoughts on chlorella tablets (RECOVERYbits) or any kind? Are there real benefits? Any info would be great! Thanks!” [0:32:27]
Answer
Let me tell you, I've been involved in several research projects. We just proposed another research project for our clinic today, discussing it with our clinicians and our staff to see if we can handle the work burden. We're going to be working on a mushroom extract for building up the immune system, although it does many other things. Now, with chlorella, in the past, there was a big problem, and that big problem is chlorella tends to clear out or be attracted to or is a chelator for taking up excess mercury. So, if you can find a product that is labeled a chlorella product which declares that it has been tested and found to have very low or only trace levels of mercury in it, then that would be a probably reasonable supplement to take for detoxing heavy metal mercury in it.
Many common-level chatter in the Internet world over the decades talk about the great value of these green drinks and spirulina drinks and chlorella shakes and so forth, but in fact, it's a huge source of contamination with mercury. In fact, when we tried to devise certain things to detox because I've done a lot of mercury detoxing in my life for my patients through chelation therapy, we could not access a producer that made any sense to try and pull the mercury out of the chlorella to let it try and be available for a supplement product. So, the answer I'm going to give you is, I don't think chlorella tablets are valuable. Unless they put in there a guarantee that they've worked with a lab that tested that product and it has a trace or no mercury discernible left in it, then it's not a good product.
Question
“Hi. I get full body massages quite a bit. How good is it for my body to do this? What does it help?” [0:35:53]
Answer
I think there's a tremendous amount of research published, although it's difficult to do a study on massage unless you're doing an isolated lab sampling for something like the stress hormone cortisol and looking at these levels before you started doing massage and then maybe a month later after six or eight massages. But we all know that human touch is valuable for explanations we don't have an explanation for. There are some people who just hold your hand and that hand-holding, even for just moments, conveys a degree of love and energy that we don't have words for. Many people who work with the elderly or the challenged newborns and retarded, deformed children, we know that newborns that don't get touched do not thrive and they die.
So is there value? Of course, there is. How well it's quantified and studied, and it should be, is arguably not enough. But I am for hugging. I think there's a study that looked at cortisol stress hormones on how many hugs you get a day, and it was 12 hugs a day. And yes, a massage has many levels of value, but I think the most of which is value worth your oxytocin brain signals, your dopamine levels, all these things are impacted within.
Question
“Are you aware of any benefits of taking Collinsonia Root?” [0:38:04]
Answer
Collinsonia root is a mucilaginous kind of a thing. It is a homeopath. It makes a lot, of mucilaginous material like chia seeds. Chia seeds are like Collinsonia Root. When I did my doctorate in integrative medicine and went through ayurvedic herbal and homeopathic studies, we looked at these parameters. So, the ancients, throughout the years, everyone's loved their family and friends, and everyone's tried to help everything, and they've written things down. So we have lots of things from ancient medicine. And these mucus-producing vegetable-based materials do in fact produce mucus. And then we feel that this helps prevent hemorrhoids. And so, I think that's probably the big value of it.
Now, I don't prescribe it. I really haven't needed it. I mean, I have patients with hemorrhoids, but very often we can manage this by stopping inflammation. Remember, inflammation tears things down. It's like a fire, inflammation, oxidation. So, if you're not drinking enough water, tissue breaks down faster, and one of the irritation points on the human body is your anus with dry constipated hammering of hard bowel movements, and the tissues there can be sheared and torn, and then you start getting hemorrhoids, blood vessels that get dilated, the wall bulges out, just like diverticula in your colon. And so, if we work on those things, usually that can clear it up. So, I’ve really never needed Collinsonia Root. That's all I can say about that.
Question
“Are there benefits to adding Soursop or mushroom coffees to your daily routine?” [0:40:21]
Answer
Soursop is graviola and graviola went through in the 90s, a big surge of excitement over some anti-cancer immune-stimulating effects. But you have to understand, that all of the plant kingdom has tremendous amounts of micronutrients/nutraceuticals within them, sterols and phytosterols and anthocyanidins and stilbenes, these are various color phytochemical materials that act as powerful antioxidants that help protect the cell membrane from that damage and injury. So, you can make an argument for almost anything that God made. You don't have to have it all. This whole idea that there's a powerful one item, I just really don't think there is. I think there's self-discipline, hydration, getting proper sleep, and cutting off playtime at night and not staying up till 10, 11, or 12, getting up with the sunrise, letting the infrared light without your glasses on get to your face and your eyes in the morning for a minute to three minutes. All these things, these self-disciplines are very powerful. Just with water, fasting is powerful. So, here you have nutrients that can provide some antioxidant advantages and not eating at all can create some antioxidant advantages.
It makes me think of the Bible verse, how marvelous and terrible are your ways, and the terrible meaning in the Hebrew translation, to not understand the magnificence of God's creation. So, let's stop trying to find individual items, and let's start doing what we can do right away at no cost to you. Just exercising, weightlifting to build our muscles up, not eating late, getting up with the sunrise, letting the sun hit your face every morning, those nice red, infrared red waves, those long waves that go right through your bone and skull, and energize the water that is clinging to your membranes, and let's do things like that first.
Question
“My son is going to start taking Zyprexa (Olanzapine) for bipolar type 2 disease. Are there natural supplements or deficiencies that you know of that can alleviate this mental disorder? Thank you, Dr. E.” [0:43:16]
Answer
Well, that's a $64,000 question. We are so grateful away from eating real food, real exercise, real energy light pollution. So, the LED lamps in this room, the blue light coming off the screen at me, the light on my cell phone, the wires in my house, and the electromagnetic currents around it. Staying up too late my pineal gland doesn't get information, I'm given high fructose corn syrup packaged junk food, crackers, and salt, and we live in this now artificial buying, making these people wealthy, laughing at us as we spend our money to get our dope, whether the dope is potato chips or our dope is ice cream, or our dope is cake, or our dope is pizza, or our dope is potato chips, or Dorito chips, or Cheetos, or our dope is chocolate candy, or Snicker bars, and we go through these salt, sugar, high fructose corn syrup, ringing up the dopaminergic receptors in our brain, getting a slight brief thrill, and then a crash. Our cell membranes are getting pelted all the time with damaging images and injuries to our cell membranes here. We're not eating the meat, the fish, the chicken, the egg yolks, the beef that we need, we're eating too late, we're eating like lab rats in a cage, bored out of our minds and just eating ad-lib all through the night. This is harming us. We are not exercising. We're not up in the morning. We're not with the natural light. We have polluting abnormal lights. The incandescent bulb, of course, is now illegal in California. Who would have thought of that? Oh, yeah, I know who would have thought of that?
So, all these things are harming all our children. I've been sitting here 43 years, and I cannot tell you the increase in the volume of parents telling me the concerns about their children falling victim to addictions or truancy depression, confusional, anxiety, insomniac, inability to make a decision. This is just an expansive thing happening. Our diet is absolute junk food, poisoned food. Our light environment is poisoned. Our electromagnetic energy is poisoned, irritating all of our electrochemical membranes. Of course, we are seeing a crisis in the mental health of our children and our loved ones.
So, you have to see a good, functional doctor. I am not saying that you shouldn't take things that another doctor has prescribed. You apparently have gone to a psychiatrist and have had this because only psychiatrists can prescribe it. Maybe a pediatrician can also. But my point is working with your specialists, also bring on board someone who can help look at your home eating lifestyle habits, your sleep cycles, your light exposure, your electromagnetic pollution through all these phones, we're sleeping with phones near our head. These are all disruptive to the neurochemical formation, and gut health, there is so much gut health inflammation, and they say your second brain is in your gut, so your stomach has so much inflammation, micro damages, bad bacteria growing up, building up and producing endotoxins that pass through the damaged membrane, inflame your body and create an alarm, a sense of biochemical alarm, and none of us are looking at this, and we're doing this with starch, high fructose corn syrup, starchy food, carbohydrate, sugar, sugar, high fructose corn syrup feeding bad bacteria, and we can't make the healthy serotonin and other neurotransmitters that are richly made in our gut. And then we're going to cheap fixes with drugs. So, find a good functional doctor who will start walking you through this pathway, looking at each of these, helping your dear son or daughter work this through, encouraging them through it, that there is light at the other side of this tunnel. We have to get rid of this cheap packaged food, soda drinking, juice drinking, pizza eating, fast food restaurants driving through, gas station junk food candies and chips sold ad lib everywhere. Get it out of the school, get it out of your house, and start having healthy homemade meals. All right. That would be my best advice for you.
Question
“Hi, Dr. Rita. If you were to wear a continuous glucose monitor, what would be a normal glucose arc after a meal, and how long should blood sugars be elevated? Thank you always.” [0:49:33]
Answer
Well, interestingly enough, I just did that, Terry, my registered nurse, and my health coach as well. She and I put on the Libre glucose continuous monitor for two weeks. I just took it off last week. And after I put it on, my alarms went off because my blood sugars dropped so low into the 50s. I mean, the range for normal on this stupid machine was 70 to 180, as if that's a normal range. I mean, we are as polluted as the people. Our population averages are so ridiculously high from our indulgences, that we call our indulgences normal. To think that you would go up to 180 after eating something is outrageous. Normal should be, and when we did ministry work, missionary work, in a foreign country, blood sugars and people who have no stores, no cars, not even horses, they live in their environment, they stay in their environment, they rarely have ever come down, and they're only with their ability to have maybe a seasonal every few months party and create a little bit of sugar and a little bit of a treat, they live on very simple foods, and their blood sugars are right around 45 in the morning, and after they eat, usually their beef jerky or their fat-laden dairy-rich, because many of these people are hill country people, at least where I did missionary work, and they eat this fat and this beef jerky or their goat jerky, and they work all day with their goats up in the mountains, and at lunch, they have some wrapped up cheeses and goat jerky. And if we check their blood, their blood in the morning when they wake up is 45. After they eat breakfast, it goes up to maybe 100. And then they work all morning, and we check it before lunch, and it's dropped back down to 45. And then we check it after lunch, and it goes up to 100. Then they work the whole afternoon until sundown, and they get back to their homes, and it's back down to 45 again. Then they eat, and then they might have a little bit more food with their dinner time, and then we check their blood, it's back up to 100, but then they don't work anymore, and then they go a whole 8 to 10 hours without eating, and their blood sugar then comes back to 45. So, they're operating between 45 and 100, 45 and 100.
We, self-indulgent brats are addicted to everything, we think a normal blood sugar is 100, and it's not. A normal blood sugar and my alarms were going off at 55. It would go ding, ding, ding, ding, ding at nighttime while I'm sleeping, wake me up, oh my blood monitor alarm is going off, and I check my blood sugar and it'd be 47, 52. And I couldn't even disable that component because low blood sugar to these geniuses of medicine think that a 52 or a 47 is a danger.
Now, when I was a young doctor in the 70s and on the internal medicine hospital wards for diabetes, we never gave sugar to a diabetic until their blood sugar dropped to 35 or less, and that was very rare. Now, today, I was just talking with one of my medical doctors, Dr. Majid, who was a hospitalist for years, and they gave it at 60. We have lost our marbles, people. We don't know what health is anymore.
So, what I did is I forced myself, for the two stinking weeks I was on this monitor, to eat more, to try and get my average blood sugars up above 100. And finally, my alarm stopped going off. I ate…what did I eat even…I ate, I don't know what it was I ate. I ate some, maybe it was a sandwich that had bread, whole grain Ezekiel bread, and my blood sugar went up to maybe like 120, and then I ate yogurt that had some sugar in it, and the highest I ever got my blood sugar up to might have been 150. But then it came down. And how long was that spike? Oh, it's within the hour. So, you really shouldn't be planning out a long time. You should eat and it should come down within the hour back to a normal, I'd say, average range. So, my average was more like 80. My blood sugars were roughly 50 to 100, 50 to 100 all the time. Alright, maybe that was too much information. I use the Libre form.
Question
“Hi Dr. Rita, my brother has an aneurysm in his stomach, and they said they couldn’t do anything because it’s too small. Is there anything he can do about it and what causes this? They also put him on medication for his cholesterol. They said it was high, it’s only 220. They put him on the drug Simvastatin. What are your thoughts? Thank you.” [0:55:28]
Answer
Well, if he's committed to a healthy lifestyle, I think he can forget this fix. You can shrink your stomach by just eating less and in a time-restricted zone. If you are eating, getting enough vitamin C, and enough amino acids, proline, lysine, valine, and some branch chain amino acids help to make the collagen elastin, so it stays nice and tight when your body's repairing it. And so, these outpouchings like this can start to heal and you need vitamin C for this. So, he needs to eat in a time-restricted zone, calorie-healthy, dense, rich, like meat, fish, chicken, turkey, beef, and eggs with the yolks, and that's very satiating, rich in all these amino acids that help the collagen and elastin with vitamin C. You might need a Digestive Enzyme, depending on how old he is. And he should heal. But this is getting more and more common to see because we're just out of control and gorging ourselves, and we get these hiatal hernias created or we get these aneurysms. So that would be my suggestion there.
Regarding simvastatin, watch the video called High Cholesterol is Healthy. Title is High Cholesterol is Healthy by Dr. Berry and Dr. Diamond, and they review a lot of the literature, a retrospective meta-analysis in the past 20-40 years, and this is about 8 months ago, 10 months ago now, and it's excellent, and there's almost no justification for simvastatin.
Question
“Dr. E., thanks again for all you do. I have an initial consultation with Dr. Majid next week. I've completed the online forms. I qualify for Medicare in a few months and would love to use your practice to help me stay healthy. Can you please share some insight about the consultation? Is there information I can bring that might be helpful? Thank you.” [0:57:47]
Answer
Bring a list of any medications the milligram doses and how often you take them. Bring a list of any surgeries and the approximate year or age you were when they were done. Bring your blood type, if you know your blood type, if you have dog tags from prior military service, or if you have any old labs in the past few years. If you had a colonoscopy, if you have that report in the past 5 to 10 years, bring that. If you've ever had a stress treadmill EKG for heart performance, it would be good to have a copy of that report. And if you have any lab of your PSA prostate level or any old male hormone levels, if they were ever done. And so, Dr. Majid is excellent, and she's an internal medicine specialist. She's worked the hospital floors for people she's never seen before rolled up on the floor and here's the problem, deal with it, and helping them to get organized and better, so that they can get out of the hospital, and she's done that for years and years. She's very, very good. She's a lovely dynamic physician. So, I think you'll have a great time with her.
Question
“Hi Dr. Ellithorpe, Both I and my friend are your patients, and last time he went in, you asked him to get a big lump on the back of his neck checked out by a specialist who said it was a lipoma and needed surgery. I think very risky. I’ve heard there are natural ways to get rid of them. They keep growing back anyways (another friend had multiple back surgeries).” [0:59:57]
Answer
Lipomas usually reflect fat cells that have become hyperactive and hyper-inflated with triglycerides and they become bumps of fat on our skin surfaces. Therefore, it is our lousy high-processed diet that's triggering insulin to stimulate fat storage of carbohydrate triglycerides. So, when you eat sugar and starch, it's turned into a simple fat triglyceride, and that's what's stored in a fat cell and blows up with every candy bar, every soda pop, every bread piece you eat. And so, that's where the problem is. So, that's where you have to work at that.
Question
“Is Vascuzyme the same as Vitalzym?” [1:01:20]
Answer
They're nearly the same, they're not identical. And Vitalzym is made in Japan. It is a prescription pharmaceutical in Japan. It's made with these wonderful serrapeptase enzymes and other systemic enzymes that bring down inflammation. Vascuzyme is an Ortho Molecular product, and I helped work with them to kind of beef it up and bring some serrapeptase into it, so it's a very good product now, and we have privately labeled it here to make it a little cheaper, and they're much cheaper than Vitalzym is from Japan. So, it's called Systemic Enzymes. It's my private label PreferredMD or ProvenMD, and it's called Systemic Enzymes. And they're excellent products. We test it all the time. We do anti-inflammatory testing on them.
Question
“I have a Berkey water filtration system. How does the water wand work to make a day's worth of water?” [1:02:30]
Answer
I can't explain physics, but this is crystalline and a crystal is a transmitter of energy, frequency, and information. So, when you stick it into your water, all that perfect structured water is now teaching all these other water cells in here to become structure, just like the water that’s in this thing with that bubble moving. So, you have to just listen to some lectures on the physics of structured water and the information that you can get, that's probably the best I can say about that.
Question
“Last week you recommended TLC Multi Mineral and Ortho Molecular’s Buffered Vitamin C. If I start the TLC Multi Min, should I stop the individual supplements such as magnesium, zinc, & selenium? What is the difference between Ortho Molecular’s Buffered Vitamin C and Vitality-C? Should I replace Vitali-C with the Ortho Molecular’s Buffered C?” [1:03:28]
Answer
Yeah, I mean, slowly use them up or set them aside in a dark, sealed container, but I don't know if they're high-quality Albion amino acid chelated or organically chelated minerals. Vitality C is really ribose chelated to the vitamin C ascorbic acid; whereas the buffered vitamin C is buffered with minerals and organic chelates. So, that's the reason. That's the difference.
Question
“I'm a 60-year-old woman who works a lot. The job can be very stressful and I lost a lot of weight in the last two months. Should I be worried? Lost appetite for a lot of foods. I’m eating a lot of soup and oatmeal. Any advice?” [1:04:35]
Answer
Any sudden weight loss that's not planned, you should always see a doctor. You know, there's all kinds of things. The best thing to do, since you're already asking about it, is let's have a doctor see you, find out when your last colonoscopy was, find out your blood type, screen for blood in your stool, and put certain things together and see where you're at. You have to be seen by a doctor. Anyone complaining of sudden weight loss, you know, losing 5 percent of their body weight in a matter of a month or two, needs to be evaluated.
Question
“My mom was taking a statin over 10 years and found out that she was diabetic. She found out her statin causes diabetes. She stopped taking it and her blood sugar has dropped by almost half. She noticed her blood was thinner than it was. Is that normal? It has been 2 months since her lifestyle change.” [1:05:30]
Answer
Sorry, it’s so late for you to find that out. Isn't that something? Because cholesterol is part of the structure of the cell membrane to make it function. So, if we're looking at the structure, see this little thing right here, the squiggly right here, this little squiggle thing, that right there, that's cholesterol. And here it is over here. This cholesterol helps create a little bit of space, so there's fluidity and the ability of that cell to do its job. So, it's just an amazing world, isn't it? That people get to become doctors and they don't understand these basic things.
